My career in education started with coaching, camps and outdoor education before moving into the traditional classroom. In the classroom I have taught 4th, 6th and 8th grade and in everything from a departmental model to a self contained classroom. Moving from teaching 4th grade to administration at a high school was a huge change, but a great experience to have before settling down in a 5th/6th building. All in all, it has been an incredible experience and exposed me to an incredible range of different students. All of this has led me to an interest in creating purposeful ways to educate students not only on academics and traditional "behavior" but in ways to grow and strengthen their sense of self, confidence in their "life toolkit", and ability to endure the risk, failure and success of education.
