Education is full of buzzwords. Maybe you’ve heard of one of the latest: Standards Based Learning (SBL). In this presentation, you will participate in an interactive standards based learning lesson to learn about it’s philosophy and see real examples of how two teachers use this philosophy to personalize learning in our classroom. SBL has increased rigor and relevance in classrooms while making grades more meaningful for teachers and students. It has made educators become more precise in communicating ideas about learning and about how students can take action to improve their own learning. This session will be taught according to standards based learning philosophies, using a rubric to guide mastery of a standard.
