Often times, leadership’s critical operation goals centered on mental health, security and other strategic goals are unwittingly hindered by their built environment. This can create unanticipated hurdles or roadblocks for achieving these lifesaving initiatives. Architecture firm, emersion DESIGN, has teamed with Lindner Center of HOPE to create a pilot study to investigate current and ongoing research centered on mental health in the PK-12 school environment. This team has built a shared research model, partnered with Ohio school districts, to develop integrative understanding and help to break down silos to allow the built environment to support key mental health goals. This session will share the work to date and allow the attendees to become part of the healthy buildings for mental health movement.

Attendees will :
1. Be able to identify spaces that are hinders to a healthy school.
2. Learn how to leverage spatial design to improve current mental health curriculum and programs.
3. Learn how good environmental design can mitigate social isolation and allow for student mental assessment in the moment.
4. Receive an extensive list of free resources centered on healthy buildings for mental health

Sponsored by emersionDESIGN.
