What is Trauma?
Why does it impact learning?
How do I teach a student from trauma?
Teacher friends: this session is for YOU!  It’s for the teacher who is pulling their hair out in the classroom next to yours, the teacher who is considering leaving education to water plants at the Home Depot because plants don’t talk back, cuss, spit, or  have tantrums, and for any teacher that wants to gain access to the key that unlocks the brain. This session will introduce you to why trauma impedes learning, will give you strategies for how to disarm fear, get kiddos “thinking brain” online in order to teach your students from trauma, and will hopefully give you fresh insight into and compassion for your students.  A Think-Pair-Share will be used to discuss at least 2 strategies that can begin on the first day of school.
