Who leads your district? Did you think of a person or a position? Did you say “Superintendent”, “Principal”, “Teacher”, or did you first think of someone’s name? Culture can often place the responsibility of leadership on a position, and then fit a person into that title.

This session will focus on the idea of leading first as a person, but also leading from any position in, or outside of an organization. Participants will identify the importance of leading from within an area of expertise in order to grow as a person, professional and contribute to professionalism.

Participants will also identify opportunities for leadership outside of a title or position and empower people to build their leadership abilities through experience, professional learning communities, books, and other resource materials. Participants will learn how to use the PLC processfor professional growth and leave with materials to assist with future leadership experiences and goals.
